Bio

I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio where I found my escape from suburbia in the mid to late 80’s inside copies of Thrasher magazine, comic books and punk records. My skateboard took me everywhere I wanted to go: backyard mini ramps, the Berea Roll ‘n Bowl or maybe an industrial park with banked curbs illuminated by a car’s headlights after dark. Not far off was a boombox blaring the Misfits, Black Flag, Suicidal Tendencies…

After skateboarding, came music: Bands and fanzines and booking shows. 2 week tours crammed into a Toyota mini van with all your equipment and a passenger side window that won’t roll down in the middle of July. There was Speak in Tongues and living in a basement where the sweat from the drunks upstairs dripped down the walls of my windowless bedroom. Constantly waging war against the kids who wouldn’t cough up a handful of change to get the band to the next town. Not to mention the record label that burned me out before it even started or spending all night in a 24 hour Kinkos, making copies and folding fanzines.

When I moved to Columbia, SC in 2000, my focus shifted to artwork and illustration. Things began to fall into place in 2003 when I began experimenting with producing rock posters for a couple of local venues. I quickly discovered screenprinting and fell in love with learning the craft and applying it to my design work.

I currently live just outside of Columbia, SC with my wife, Sarah, our son, Declan, and a bunch of cats and dogs. When I’m not teaching Deckie to rage a skateboard or ride his bike, I’m experimenting with watercolors, sculpture and devouring tattoo art.

I currently edit and compile the I Want Your Skull fanzine and website and have been featured in many publications including The Art of Modern Rock and Panda Meat: Source Book 1. My work has been featured on countless t-shirt designs, album packaging and custom printed, limited edition emphera for the underground music scene.
